Charlene’s love for the culinary industry began as a young child. Born and raised in a small town off the coast of Oregon, she spent most of her childhood helping her grandparents on their produce farm - plucking persimmons in the winter, being hoisted atop peach trees by tractor bucket in the summer, and shelling almonds during fall. It’s an activity she now loves to enjoy with her own daughter when they go back to visit.
After high school, she attended Oregon Coast Culinary Institute and got an Associates of Science in Culinary Arts.
Charlene was a member of the opening pastry team at Tavernetta, and quickly rose through the ranks. In fall of 2021, she was promoted to Pastry Chef, where she currently oversees the growth and development of Tavernetta’s pastry program. Her time spent on her grandparents’ farm remains near to her, as she is passionate about working with small, local farms in Colorado.
